    After the parade, Head over to Howard Street in Downtown Boone for APPtoberfest and the Homecoming Street Party. Relax and enjoy live music by Weekend Excursion as you catch up with old friends at the Alumni Beer Garden. The event begins at 7:00 p.m. and concludes at 9:30 p.m.

Richmond studies the complex and interconnected challenges embedded in a sustainable future for our planet in the face of population growth, climate change, and resource management.

    For early risers on Saturday, September 29th, Dean Vahlbusch will be giving coffee tours of the Honors College from 7:30 to 9:00 a.m. Thereafter, you’ll be able to find the Dean at the Alumni Breakfast at the McKinney Alumni Center from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. and at the NPHC Plots & Gardens Dedication at 10:00 a.m. Pre-kickoff we’ll be tailgating with some fellow academic deans on Duck Pond Field.

    Alumni and friends of the Walker College of Business are invited to a tailgate, co-presented by the Brantley Risk & Insurance Center and the Walker Fellows, on the Peacock Hall patio (formerly Raley Hall patio) Saturday, September 29, 2018. Participants will meet fellow alumni and friends, enjoy refreshments, and pick up giveaways (while supplies last) before the Appalachian State University Mountaineers take on the South Alabama Jaguars (3:30 p.m.) The tailgate is free and open to the public.
